Solution Architect – Master Data Governance, Global Full Time NEW

The Solution Architect (MDG) is accountable for defining and governing the enterprise master data architecture across key domains (Business Partner, Material, Finance, and Supplier) to enable scalable, compliant, and high-quality master data products for global business processes.

The role acts as the architectural authority and system owner for SAP MDG within the S/4HANA landscape, shaping the MDG operating model, domain design, integration patterns, and governance processes. It provides architectural assurance and design governance across SAP MDG initiatives, ensuring solution quality and regulatory compliance. The role builds and maintains master data capability roadmaps and enforces alignment with the enterprise data and technology strategy. In addition, the role is responsible for SAP MDG solution delivery and the oversight of outsourced MDG development and operations partners, ensuring effective execution, adherence to architectural standards, service quality, and continuous improvement within a regulated MedTech environment, in line with CSV, GxP, and quality standards, while enabling business transformation and digital innovation.

Responsibilities

SAP MDG Architecture & System Ownership

• Act as the architectural authority and system owner for SAP MDG within the S/4HANA landscape.
• Define and govern enterprise master data models and governance processes across business partner, material, supplier, and finance domains.
• Shape the SAP MDG operating model, including governance workflows, validations, approvals, and extensibility.
• Own the SAP MDG application lifecycle, including roadmap planning, upgrades, and technical debt management.

Delivery Oversight & Vendor Management

• Supervise SAP MDG project delivery across programs and releases.
• Assign and steer external vendors and system integration partners based on skill, capacity, and domain expertise.
• Ensure solution quality, architectural compliance, budget adherence, and on‑time execution.
• Act as the primary escalation point for delivery risks, quality issues, and architectural deviations related to SAP MDG.

Operational Oversight & Continuous Improvement

• Oversee outsourced SAP MDG development and operational services.
• Ensure adherence to architectural standards, service quality expectations, and regulatory requirements.
• Drive operational improvements related to performance, data quality, automation, and reliability.
• Ensure seamless collaboration between delivery, operations, and architecture functions.

Capability Roadmaps & Strategic Alignment

• Define, maintain, and evolve enterprise master data capability roadmaps.
• Ensure alignment of SAP MDG capabilities with enterprise data, integration, and technology strategies.
• Conduct regular reviews covering roadmap progress, solution maturity, and architectural risks.
• Support long‑term planning for SAP MDG as a strategic enterprise platform.

Governance, Assurance & Compliance

• Provide architectural assurance and design governance for SAP MDG initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise standards, CSV, GxP, and MedTech quality requirements.
• Support auditability, traceability, and compliance‑by‑design principles.

What we are looking for:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or other related field (or equivalent and related experience).

Experience:

• Minimum 5-7 years’ relevant experience in SAP, MDM, or enterprise data architecture roles, with hands-on SAP MDG implementation experience.
• Proven expertise in MDM and SAP MDG implementations (Supplier, Customer, Product, and Finance domains)
• Experience leading MDM projects in large-scale S/4HANA transformation environments.
• Deep understanding of data governance, data quality, and harmonization processes.
• Good project management, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience building unified data fabrics and developing data products to enhance enterprise-wide data consistency and accessibility.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance in MedTech, CSV, and best practices for master data management.
• Experience in project management, process modeling, data modeling, and systems analysis.
