Key Responsibilities
Sourcing & Vendor Management
• Identify and develop new vendors for fabrics, foam, filling materials, trims,
packaging, and finished products.
• Conduct supplier evaluations based on quality, pricing, capacity, compliance,
and delivery timelines.
• Negotiate costing, MOQ, lead time, and commercial terms with suppliers.
• Maintain vendor database and sourcing records.
• Work on alternate sourcing to reduce risk and improve cost efficiency.
New Product Development (NPD)
• Develop new home furnishing products based on market trends and business
requirements.
• Coordinate with design, merchandising, QA, and production teams for sample
development.
• Work on product benchmarking and competitor analysis.
• Source and develop innovative materials, fabrics, constructions, and finishes.
• Ensure timely development and approval of proto, fit, and production samples.
• Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials), product specifications, and development
trackers.
Technical & Quality Coordination
• Understand product construction, stitching methods, foam specifications, GSM,
density, and fabric performance.
• Coordinate with QC team to ensure product quality standards are met.
• Resolve technical and production-related issues during development and bulk
production.
• Conduct factory visits and sample reviews when required.
• Ensure products meet performance, durability, and safety requirements.
Costing & Commercials
• Prepare product costing sheets and analyze cost reduction opportunities.
• Work on value engineering without compromising quality.
• Monitor material consumption and wastage control.
Production Follow-up
• Coordinate with suppliers for on-time raw material and sample delivery.
• Track development timelines and ensure smooth handover to production.
• Support pilot runs and initial production approvals.
Required Skills
• Strong knowledge of home furnishing materials and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of fabrics, foam, fillings, quilting, stitching, lamination, and
packaging.
• Vendor negotiation and sourcing capability.
• Product costing and BOM preparation.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Problem-solving and analytical approach.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and product tracking sheets.
Preferred Qualification
• Bachelor’s degree/Diploma/Masters in Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology,
Industrial Engineering, or related field is preferrable
• 4–7 years of experience in sourcing, product development, or merchandising in
