Sr Accountant (FX) Full Time

The Lumen Senior Accountant for Foreign Exchange (FX) and Cumulative Translation Adjustments (CTA) will be part of a team of accountants, ensuring the accuracy of month-end reporting, performing analysis over FX and CTA transactions, and participating in process automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities  

• Summarize reporting for translation and remeasurement by company code and account to ensure completeness and accuracy of the monthly reconciliation process.
• Perform the monthly process of investigating FX and CTA transactions over a certain threshold for accuracy.
• Perform a recalculation of FX and CTA using underlying data and FX rates and compare them to actual amounts recorded on a monthly basis.
• Perform analysis over the completeness and accuracy of document, local, and group currencies on a monthly basis.
• Analyze FX and CTA for drivers, anomalies, and required adjustments.
• Record FX adjusting entries as required using Blackline Journal Entry tool to align according to the FX policy.
• Contribute to the optimization and transformation of the month end and reconciliation process to ensure best practice and consolidation of entries and reconciliation groups.
• Drive the Accounting department to enhance journal entry, reconciliation, and reporting KPIs.
• Proactively meet the training and development requirements for SAP S4 Hana and other financial reporting tools to meet information requests and month-end close deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with the manager on process inconsistencies cross functionally and be able to create and foster positive relationships across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant transactional experience in accounting or finance.
• Proficiency in SAP S4 Hana general ledger and the equivalent reporting tools such as AFO.
• Excellent communication, including written, verbal, problem-solving, and investigative skills.
• Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment as well as cross functionally with the other teams.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Excel, SharePoint, Outlook Teams, Alteryx, and Copilot.
