Job Description
The Deputy Manager for General Trade in the Sales & Distribution Domestic Business is tasked with spearheading sales initiatives across designated territories. This role demands a strategic approach to managing both primary and secondary sales channels, ensuring alignment with the company’s overarching business objectives. The incumbent will lead a team of sales professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve and exceed sales targets. Establishing and nurturing long-term relationships with key customer accounts is crucial, as is the ability to negotiate and secure favorable agreements with major clients. The role requires a keen understanding of market dynamics and competitive intelligence to inform strategic sales decisions. The Deputy Manager will also collaborate closely with Marketing and Product Development teams to ensure brand consistency and capitalize on new product launches. A strong emphasis is placed on customer satisfaction, requiring timely and effective solutions tailored to client needs. The ideal candidate will possess a global mindset, strong business acumen, and entrepreneurial spirit, complemented by excellent communication, networking, and negotiation skills.
Principal Accountabilities
Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive sales growth in the assigned area ensuring alignment with overall business objectivesbrLead nationwide sales team members to achieve sales targets providing guidance and support to optimize performancebrEstablish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts fostering longterm partnershipsbrNegotiate and close agreements with large customers ensuring mutually beneficial terms and conditionsbrMonitor and analyze performance metrics suggesting improvements to enhance sales effectiveness and efficiencybrPrepare monthly quarterly and annual sales forecasts providing accurate and insightful projections to inform strategic planningbrPerform research to identify new potential customers and market opportunities expanding the companys reach and influencebrProvide timely and effective solutions aligned with clients needs ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyaltybrLiaise with Marketing and Product Development departments to ensure brand consistency and capitalize on new product launchesbrStay uptodate with new product launches and ensure sales team members are informed and prepared to promote them effectivelybrUnderstand and adapt to the domestic trade market and its nuances leveraging insights to refine sales strategiesbrUse analytical skills to identify market trends and customer needs informing strategic decisionmaking and opportunity identificationbrDevelop and maintain an understanding of the competitive market landscape positioning the company advantageouslybrDemonstrate strong negotiation networking and influencing skills to secure profitable contracts and deals driving business growthbrFoster and maintain excellent customer relationships ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat businessbrThe role requires a strategic thinker with a global mindset strong business and commercial acumen and a knack for entrepreneurshipbrThe candidate should also excel in communication networking negotiation customer relationship management and persuasion skills
