The Support Procurement WML Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless procurement of materials, services, and equipment essential for business operations. This position demands a strategic approach to managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. The manager is responsible for driving continuous improvement in the supply chain process, ensuring that procurement activities are timely, cost-effective, and of high quality. The role requires a deep understanding of market intelligence, commercial acumen, and proficiency in SAP or other IT-related applications. The manager will also be instrumental in material movement and management, business and project planning, and conducting market research and intelligence. A global mindset and strong people management skills are essential to excel in this role, as is the ability to foster an entrepreneurial spirit within the team. The manager will be expected to lead with excellence, ensuring that all procurement activities align with the company’s strategic goals.
Principal Accountabilities
Manage endtoend procurement operations including the processing of purchase requisitions and conversion into purchase orders ensuring timely delivery in line with operational requirementsbr Identify evaluate and onboard new vendors while maintaining strong transparent relationships with existing vendors Monitor vendor performance based on quality delivery and cost parametersbr Lead negotiations on pricing payment terms contract conditions and service agreements implementing costsaving initiatives without compromising quality Conduct market rate analysis and benchmarking to ensure competitive pricingbr Coordinate with stores and user departments to maintain optimal inventory levels preventing stockouts delays and overstock situations Support demand forecasting and planning to align with business needsbr Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and statutory requirements Maintain accurate records of quotations comparative statements purchase orders and contracts supporting audit requirements with proper documentationbr Collaborate with production maintenance finance logistics and other departments to resolve procurementrelated issues promptly Support new project requirements and capital expenditure purchasesbr Prepare comprehensive procurement reports cost analysis and monthly management information systems MIS to track savings lead time and vendor performance metrics providing insights for strategic decisionmaking
