Job Purpose : The purpose of the role is to undertake and meet the mechanical maintenance requirements for the Coal Mill in Power Plant in the respective shift, in a timely manner, thereby ensuring smooth and safe operations and reduction in work disruptions due to breakdowns.

To Ensure & monitor the day-to-day regular maintenance and PM activities of equipment’s as per EKAYYAN along with effective utilization of shift manpower for smooth operation and housekeeping of Coal Mill.

Job Context

We have total 11 Nos. Boilers out of which 10 nos. in running & 1 no. has kept on standby purpose. Total power generation of unit is around 829 MW to support metal production at Renukoot plant. In our department We have total 56 nos. Coal Mills & Coal Feeders, our role is to maintain availability of Coal mills during operation of boilers also AOH & PM to be done as per schedule.

Job Challenges

• Availability of Coal Mill & Coal feeders in monsoon.
• Complete coal mill dismantling in AOH due to non-availability of sufficient manpower.
• Corrective maintenance is higher than planned maintenance.
• Coal Dust leakages & worm shaft oil leakages

CSI score improvement by 10% w.r.t previous year.

Daily tracking of WR & WO should be made timely. Action compliance must be < 3 Days.

Overhauling jobs, CM Jobs & PM Jobs must be completed as per given schedule with ensuring safety & quality of the job

After AOH & PM, Area housekeeping to be ensured after that PTW to be closed.

MTBF & MTTR to be monitored on monthly basis.

After AOH & PM, Painting to be done of equipment’s.

SLA (Service level agreement) to be prepared & monitored on monthly basis.

• To increase manpower productivity of shift from 4 hrs. to 6 hrs.

• Shop Floor Inventory of Coal Mill Should be less than 20 Lakhs
• Reconditioning of spare >5 Lakh
• scrap material generation record to be maintained on daily basis.
• kaizen to be done as per given target 4 nos./employee/year.
• MOC Should be prepared for new job.
• Shop floor inventory listing & monitoring to be done.
• Listing of reconditioning spares to be done.
