About the Role
The Head of CRM owns OWE’s customer relationship management platform end-to-end — strategy, configuration, data integrity, integrations, and the small team that keeps it running. This is a hybrid role: part technical lead (hands-on platform admin, integrations, automation, reporting) and part team manager (developing direct reports, coordinating with sales, ops, and finance stakeholders, setting the roadmap).
You’ll be the single accountable owner of the CRM as a system of record — making sure it accurately reflects how OWE does business, and that the data flowing through it is trusted across the company.
This role replaces a long-tenured internal leader who is moving into a new department, so you’ll inherit a working system and an established stakeholder map — but you’ll be expected to put your own stamp on the platform’s next chapter.
What You’ll Do
Platform & Technical Ownership
• Own day-to-day administration, configuration, and architecture of OWE’s CRM platform.
• Design and maintain the data model, automations, workflows, and reporting infrastructure.
• Build and govern integrations with the systems CRM connects into (data warehouse, ERP, ops platforms, sales tools).
• Monitor data quality and integrity; drive remediation when things drift.
• Stay current on platform releases, evaluate new features, and roll out upgrades.
Team Leadership
• Manage and develop the CRM team (currently one direct report, with room to grow).
• Set priorities, allocate work, and shield the team from drive-by requests.
• Mentor on technical skill, stakeholder communication, and platform best practices.
• Recruit and onboard additional CRM headcount as the team scales.
Strategy & Stakeholder Management
• Own the CRM roadmap — what gets built, what gets retired, what gets prioritized.
• Partner with sales, sales operations, finance, and field ops leadership to understand needs and translate them into platform capability.
• Represent the CRM in cross-functional planning conversations and executive reviews.
• Lead change management when major platform shifts affect end-user workflows.
What You Bring (Required)
• CRM platform expertise — 5+ years of hands-on experience administering, configuring, and extending a major CRM platform (Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, or comparable enterprise CRM).
• Technical depth — comfortable with data modeling, automation/workflow builders, integration patterns (REST APIs, middleware, ETL), and reporting/dashboards.
• People leadership — experience managing at least one direct report; track record of developing technical talent.
• Stakeholder management — proven ability to partner with sales, operations, and finance leadership and translate business needs into platform decisions.
• Roadmap ownership — experience setting and defending a multi-quarter platform roadmap.
• Data discipline — strong instincts around data quality, governance, and the trust that comes from a CRM people actually believe.
Nice to Have
• Solar industry experience or familiarity with the residential solar install lifecycle.
• Salesforce or HubSpot certifications (Admin, Advanced Admin, Platform App Builder, or equivalent).
• Experience with Monday.com, Confluence, and modern operations tooling.
• Background in companies that scaled their CRM through a period of rapid growth.
• Light SQL fluency for ad-hoc reporting and data validation.
