About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior PHP & WordPress Developer to join our dynamic team remotely. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to lead the development and maintenance of complex, custom WordPress websites, plugins, and themes, ensuring they meet enterprise-level standards for quality, security, and scalability. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7+ years of hands-on experience in PHP and WordPress development, with a proven track record of delivering high-performance, secure, and SEO-optimized websites. You will work closely with our international clients, project managers, and digital marketing teams to translate business needs into technical solutions, while also mentoring junior developers and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously. Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years of professional experience in PHP and WordPress development, including custom themes and plugins.
• Strong expertise in Core PHP, with familiarity in PHP frameworks such as Laravel, CodeIgniter, or CakePHP.
• Advanced skills in WordPress customization, WooCommerce, APIs, hooks, filters, and custom post types.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery, with a focus on responsive and user-friendly UI/UX design.
• Deep understanding of MySQL database architecture, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Comprehensive knowledge of web performance optimization, caching strategies, and Core Web Vitals.
• Strong grasp of web security best practices, OWASP guidelines, and secure coding standards.
• Experience working with REST APIs, third-party integrations, payment gateways, and CRM systems.
• Proficiency with Git version control workflows and collaborative development environments.
• Excellent communication skills in English; additional proficiency in Tamil is advantageous.
• Ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Deep understanding of AEO-SEO (Answer Engine Optimization / AI Search Readiness) principles and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, customization, and maintenance of high-quality WordPress websites, including themes, plugins, and WooCommerce modules, ensuring security, scalability, and performance.
• Build and support applications using Core PHP and PHP frameworks such as Laravel, CodeIgniter, or CakePHP.
• Implement SEO strategies, including structured data, schema markup, and AI-friendly content optimization to enhance search engine visibility and AI indexing.
• Customize front-end experiences with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery, ensuring pixel-perfect, responsive, and high-performance interfaces.
• Ensure adherence to Core Web Vitals, website performance benchmarks, caching strategies, and best development practices.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs, third-party services, payment gateways, automation systems, and other advanced platform functionalities.
• Oversee the end-to-end delivery of multiple projects, managing timelines, quality standards, and client expectations effectively.
• Mentor and review code of junior developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Maintain a strong focus on security, implementing OWASP guidelines, safe coding practices, and platform stability measures.
• Collaborate with project managers, digital marketing teams, designers, and clients to ensure technical solutions align with business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards, cross-browser compatibility, and responsive design principles.
• Document development processes, manage workload efficiently using structured methodologies, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
