Responsibility:

• Develop and execute material procurement plans based on production schedules and forecasts.

• Monitor and analyze inventory levels to ensure adequate stock while avoiding overstocking and obsolescence.

• Generate purchase requisitions and follow up with the procurement department to ensure timely placement of purchase orders.

• Coordinate with suppliers to track deliveries, resolve any discrepancies, and ensure adherence to quality standards and agreed-upon timelines.

• Maintain accurate records of material receipts, inventory movements, and stock levels in the ERP system.

• Identify potential material shortages or delays and proactively implement mitigation plans.

• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality control departments to understand material requirements and specifications.

• Analyze material consumption patterns and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.

• Participate in regular inventory audits and ensure accuracy of stock data.

• Evaluate supplier performance based on delivery timelines, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

• Assist in the development and implementation of efficient material handling and storage procedures.

• Stay updated on market trends and potential supply chain disruptions.

• Prepare and present regular reports on material planning activities and inventory status.

Industry:

Engineering works in disciplines that include mechanical, electrical, chemical, Fabrication, aerospace Hazardous and environmental engineering, among others.

Requirement Skills:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory. A Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering is preferred but not essential.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in material planning, inventory control, or supply chain management within a manufacturing industry.

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and material requirements.

• Proficiency in using SAP systems for inventory management and procurement.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

• Knowledge of inventory management techniques (e.g., JIT, MRP).

• Familiarity with quality control processes related to incoming materials

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical (Essential), BE in Mechanical
• Excellent Analytical Skills for evaluating production needs, forecasting, and inventory optimization
• Ability to work effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency in SAP systems for material planning is a plus
