About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Test Engineering Lead to join Qualcomm’s System Test team. This role is pivotal in defining and executing comprehensive testing strategies for WiFi and Networking access points, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable software and firmware to end-users. As a key leader, you will spearhead initiatives to enhance product quality, optimize testing processes, and improve customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include developing test plans, automation frameworks, and tools to validate complex connectivity solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including systems, development, architecture, hardware, and field teams to understand product features and translate them into effective testing methodologies. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields, with extensive experience in software and hardware testing. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is required, with a minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in software engineering or testing roles. Candidates with a PhD and at least 6 years of experience are also encouraged to apply. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, or Shell scripting is essential. Experience working with embedded systems, networking products, and automation tools is highly desirable. The candidate should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for quality assurance and customer-centric testing.

Responsibilities

• Operate under the premise that all customer-reported issues are opportunities for process improvement within the QA framework.
• Analyze new features and develop comprehensive test plans, including creating and updating test cases to cover new functionalities.
• Manage testing infrastructure, develop test topologies, and prepare detailed use cases for validation activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support end-to-end product releases, ensuring seamless integration and deployment.
• Lead a small team of engineers, guiding troubleshooting efforts by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data from various sources to resolve issues effectively.
• Mentor and train team members, sharing expertise on complex features, testing strategies, and automation techniques to foster skill development.
• Conduct log analysis with team members to identify root causes of issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Network with colleagues within the domain to exchange insights, ideas, and best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with functional, lab, IO, network operations, field teams, and product management to ensure testing plans accurately address feature requirements and issues.
