Job Summary

The Supply Chain Senior Manager Role plays a vital role in supporting the growth strategy by developing Supply Chain capabilities to manufacture parts in India for TPIPL as well as Torishima global requirements.

Main responsibility of Supply Chain Senior Manager includes, but not limited to liaising with various stake holders (within TPIPL and Torishima group companies) to understand the requirement in terms of specifications, delivery and budget limits. Thereafter, work out an agreeable project plan to meet customer requirements and execute as per plan.

This would entail interaction with various functions, namely commercial, logistics, Engineering, Service operations for execution of the projects. This role demands having thorough knowledge of material standards, various manufacturing processes and testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and shortlist suppliers meeting Quality requirements of Torishima standard.
• Workout cost and submit to GM Commercial for approval.
• Develop parts Right First Time (ZERO / minimal rework and rejection): Understand the requirements and clarify doubt, if any, before start of project.
• Develop Patterns / Tooling: With support of external agencies develop the patterns / Tools, so as to have the correct part developed at foundry / forging / fabrication / machining shop.
• Follow up with suppliers for timely execution
• Support and clarify the queries raised by suppliers in executing the projects
• Participate in various meetings and support in solving manufacturing / execution difficulties.
• Create strong relationships with Partners to support growth.
• Organize monthly and quarterly meetings with stakeholders to review KPIs (project execution, quality, and cost) and ensure that action plans are in place.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Graduate Mechanical Engineer with good written and verbal communication skills.
• Technical, commercial and strategic mind set.
• Total experience 15+ years’; out of which 8 to 10 years in sourcing of
• Large Castings, Forgings, Fabication, Pump Parts, Electrical Parts and Bought outs.
• Ability to deal in an international / multicultural environment. Prepared to travel on a frequent basis.
• Strong ability to lead/coach suppliers in problem solving/root cause analysis and closure by effectively communicating within various levels of organization, both internal and external.
• Knowledge on sourcing, negotiation, contract, capability assessment, supplier development, as well as on supply chain aspects.
