Role Summary
The Manager – Payroll is responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing, statutory compliance, taxation support, variable pay management, MIS reporting, and audit coordination. The role ensures end‑to‑end payroll governance in line with statutory regulations and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Operations
- End‑to‑end monthly payroll processing for all employees.
- Managing salary revisions, monthly salary changes, and extra payouts (current & previous month).
- Salary register preparation and reconciliation.
- Cost centre validation and payroll upload accuracy.
Compensation & Employee Data
- New joinee compensation checking and validation.
- Verification of previous salary details for tax computation.
- PAN–Aadhaar linkage verification.
- Maintenance of accurate payroll and employee records.
MIS & Finance Coordination
- Preparation of monthly payroll reports, MIS, and provisions.
- Posting and reconciliation of monthly payroll JVs.
- Coordination with Finance for payroll closures.
Taxation
- Monthly TDS verification and compliance.
- Investment declaration and proof checking.
- Support in preparation of annual and quarterly tax returns.
Variable Pay
- Calculation and processing of incentive payouts including:
- First Citizen incentives
- Black Card incentives
- Brand staff incentives
Statutory Compliance
- Statutory registrations and updates for new joiners (PF, ESIC, Employer PF, PT, LWF).
- Handling transfer cases for PT and LWF.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws.
Audit Support
- Preparation and sharing of quarterly audit data.
- Drafting audit pointers and responding to audit queries.
