ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a qualified and experienced HOD / Associate Professor to lead the Computer Science Engineering Department, overseeing both the B.Tech CSE and B.Tech AI & ML programmes affiliated with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

─────────────────────────────

• Head the CSE Department and manage all academic and administrative functions

• Teach core CSE subjects (Data Structures, DBMS, Operating Systems, Computer Networks, etc.) and/or AI & ML subjects at UG level

• Develop and update curriculum in alignment with AKTU norms and Outcome-Based Education (OBE) frameworks

• Supervise faculty recruitment, workload allocation, and professional development

• Guide final-year student projects, dissertations, and research activities

• Drive faculty research output — journals, conferences, patents

• Lead NAAC / NBA accreditation documentation and preparation for the department

• Manage department laboratories, equipment inventory, and lab scheduling

• Coordinate with Training & Placement Cell for technical skill development and campus recruitment

• Establish and maintain industry MoUs, internship pipelines, and expert lecture programmes

• Ensure compliance with AKTU examination, evaluation, and reporting norms

QUALIFICATIONS

─────────────────────────────

Required (as per AICTE norms for Associate Professor):

• Ph.D. in Computer Science / Information Technology / Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning or related discipline — strongly preferred

OR

• First-class BE/BTech + First-class ME/MTech in CS / IT with minimum 5 years of teaching experience at UG engineering level

• Valid eligibility as per AICTE regulations for the position of Associate Professor

Preferred:

• Prior experience as Head of Department or in a senior academic/administrative role

• Research publications in peer-reviewed SCI / Scopus-indexed journals or IEEE/ACM conferences

• Familiarity with NAAC/NBA self-study report preparation and accreditation documentation

• Working knowledge of AKTU examination patterns, syllabus structure, and evaluation norms

• Exposure to AI, ML, Data Science, or Cloud Computing — an advantage for AI & ML programme leadership

EXPERIENCE

─────────────────────────────

• Minimum: 5 years of teaching experience in engineering/technical education

• Preferred: 8–15 years, with at least 2 years in a HOD or senior coordination role

• Industry experience in IT/software sector will be considered favourably

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Strong subject knowledge in CS fundamentals and/or AI & ML

• Academic leadership, team mentoring, and department administration

• Curriculum design using OBE / Bloom’s Taxonomy frameworks

• Research guidance and publication mentoring

• Strong communication skills in English and Hindi

• Student counselling, career mentoring, and placement support
