Description
Qatar Airways is looking for a Procurement Officer with a strong bias on Aviation Fuel to join our Global Business Services function in Ahmedabad, India.
The position will be responsible to perform operational tasks for all procurement requirements in Aviation Fuel, adhering to category strategy, in line with its financial and operational requirements. Participates in managing vendor accounts, establishes strong inter-departmental relationship and provides time bound execution of tenders. Works directly with end users to define specifications to execution of order. Execute sourcing activities ensuring compliance, maintain high professional standards and adherence to Qatar Airways culture and values
Responsibilities
- Conduct a market search to identify a potential supplier as well as to maintain and promote sound relationships with suppliers and business community.
- Evaluate completeness and accuracy of specification put forward by user departments.
- Monitor and act upon Purchase Enquiring raised by User Departments.
- Develop RFP/RFQ/RFI and other tender documentations and subsequently run there sourcing events end to end, including providing justification for recommended selection, approval gaining and communicating to User Departments and Supplier.
- Responsible for Tender administration generally including creating system documents, printing and approvals circulation, checking for any required documents, calculations so that approving managers may proceed.
- Keep up to date knowledge about relevant commodity indexes, global inflation data, minimal wage level, QR active stations.
- Proactively seek to provide solutions to operational problems such as delays, lack of supplier’s responses.
- Negotiation with suppliers on costs and commercial terms for low to medium value goods and services.
- Create, review and maintain relevant Procurement activities i.e. purchase orders, item codes to support operational requirements.
- Use leading practice procurement tools to implement the sourcing strategies including supply base profiles & summary of quotations.
- Ensure conformance at all times of the organization to Procurement process, DOA/DRM and any other relevant company policies and processes when performing all duties, such as PO creation, tender issuances etc.

Qualification
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with 4+ years of job-related experience
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Mathematics or Engineering
- Procurement experience in aviation industry preferred
- Procurement related vocational qualification and/or educational credits preferred
- Strong analytical skills, strong communication skills and negotiation skills
- Numeracy and the ability to present data clearly and accurately
- Planning, problem solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong contractual, financial and business acumen
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and usual MS Office tools
