Role Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic, hands-on IT Operations Head to own the company’s end-to-end IT operations — employee systems and IT assets, organization-wide security practices, IT procurement and vendor negotiations, in-house infrastructure, telephony, and the annual IT budget. This is a hands-on leadership role: the ideal candidate is a technical expert who can also negotiate hard with vendors and bring IT costs firmly under control.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Systems & IT Asset Management (Endpoint Lifecycle) – Own the complete lifecycle of employee systems (laptops/desktops): procurement, configuration, deployment, maintenance, and retirement. – Forecast incoming headcount in coordination with HR and hiring managers and procure systems in advance so every New Joinee is provisioned on Day 1. – Maintain an accurate IT asset register — allocation, recovery on exit, AMC, warranty, and audit readiness. – Standardize system images, configurations, and onboarding/offboarding workflows.
2. IT Security Administration – Define and enforce strong security practices across the organisation: VPN connectivity, data leak prevention (DLP), email security, endpoint protection, and access controls. – Drive security hygiene — patching, device compliance, MDM, password/MFA policies — across all employee systems. – Respond to security incidents involving endpoints, email, or network access, and continuously harden the environment.
3. IT Procurement, Licensing & Vendor Negotiation – Own end-to-end procurement of hardware (laptops, desktops, peripherals), software licenses, and SaaS subscriptions (e.g., Atlassian Jira/ Confluence, Microsoft 365, security tools). – Procure and manage mobile SIM cards for the telephony layer, including telecom operator relationships and plan optimization. – Lead commercial negotiations with OEMs, distributors, telecom operators, and software vendors to secure the best pricing and terms. – Rationalize licenses and vendors — eliminate redundancy, right-size seat counts, ensure compliance.
4. IT Budgeting & Cost Control – Prepare, present, and own the annual IT operations budget covering hardware, software, telephony, and infrastructure. – Track actuals vs. budget monthly, forecast accurately, and report to leadership with full transparency. – Carry an explicit cost-reduction mandate — identify savings across the IT spend and deliver measurable results.
5. In-House Infrastructure & Telephony – Manage in-house infrastructure including RAC servers and supporting systems — availability, capacity, and maintenance (hardware lifecycle, AMC, vendor support contracts). – Support the telephony layer’s operational needs, including SIM provisioning and inventory. – Lead the migration from in-house telephony to a cloud telephony platform — evaluate and onboard cloud telephony providers, manage the transition, and optimize ongoing costs.
6. Collaboration with Platform Engineering – Work closely with the in-house Platform Engineering team — procure the tools and licenses engineering needs, and maintain working fluency in how software is delivered (CI/CD, environments, developer tooling).
