About The Business

Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components.

Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.

Responsibilities

1. On transfer technologies – work with module, CFM and process integration teams to drive Product Yield improvement in partnership with customers.
2. Integrated different data source/types from CFM, in-line metrology, WAT, MES, FDC, Sort, etc to provide engineers robust signals for yield management and improvement
3. On new technologies, drive SRAM and Test/Qual vehicle yield improvements
4. Establish yield targets along with customers, based on standardized models (e.g. Bose-Einstein)
5. Set up software/hardware capabilities necessary for yield improvement
6. Mentor and lead more junior engineers as required
7. Build strong customer relationships based on confidence in TEPL technical capabilities
8. Presentation to internal and customer senior executives
9. Travel, as necessary
10. Drive cross-functional yield improvement projects and DOEs
11. Guide FA and convert findings into corrective/preventive actions
12. Detect yield excursions; drive containment and disposition (hold/quarantine/rework)
13. Monitor and improve CP/FT yield and key KPIs (bin yield, D0/D1, DPW ..)

Qualifications

1. M.S or PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chem E, EE or equivalent
2. Familiar with Klarity ACE, Converter, Discover etc
3. Strong understanding of IT systems and big data analytics
4. Familiarity with AI/ML, DBMS and writing code is a plus
5. Strong understanding of analytical techniques (SEM, FIB, TEM, Photo-Emission, Fault Isolation, SIMS, ICP-MS, Chromatography, Nano-probing, etc). Able to use bit-maps, wafer maps, nano-probing, tools variances analysis, etc to get to root cause and corrective actions
6. Good circuits background to drive discussions with customers
7. Good device and integration background
8. Proven track record in yield improvement on new and mature technologies
9. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and achieve project completion within timeline and cost targets
10. Ability to work across different cultures and geographies
11. Good team player
12. Innovation and competitive mindset

Desired Experience Level

1. 10+ years’ experience in the semiconductor industry
2. Proven track record of successfully developing new technologies into high volume production
3. Proven problem-solving skills using design of experiments and analytical tools
