Role: Assistant Warehouse Manager

Department: Operations

Location: Bhiwandi (Warehouse-based role with occasional presence at the office)

Reports to: Operations Manager

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing end-to-end warehouse operations for FMCG products, including inbound, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch. 
• Ensure FIFO/FEFO (First In, First Expiry First Out) practices are strictly followed to minimize product expiry and wastage. 
• Supervise warehouse staff, including pickers, loaders, and inventory controllers, to meet daily targets. 
• Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular stock audits to ensure high accuracy. 
• Coordinate with procurement, sales, and distribution teams to ensure timely order fulfilment. 
• Oversee proper storage conditions, including temperature-sensitive goods where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety, and regulatory standards (e.g., FSSAI guidelines in India) 
• Track and reduce damages, shrinkage, and returns. 
• Assist in route planning and dispatch scheduling to optimize delivery timelines.
• Maintain documentation such as GRNs (Goods Receipt Notes), invoices, batch records, and dispatch logs. 
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs. 
• Handle escalations related to delays, stock discrepancies, or quality issues. 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably in FMCG or retail distribution 
• Strong understanding of high-volume inventory management and demand cycles 
• Familiarity with WMS/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms) 
• Knowledge of FIFO/FEFO and batch tracking systems 
• Good leadership and team management skills 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities 
• Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools 
• Understanding of safety, hygiene, and compliance standards in FMCG 

Working Conditions:

• Fast-paced warehouse environment with high daily dispatch volumes 
• May involve handling perishable or time-sensitive goods. 
• Requires flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, or peak seasons.
