Transportation Logistics Executive Full Time

Role Overview

We are looking for a Transport/Logistics Executive to manage end-to-end

transportation operations between suppliers and buyers across India. The role

involves vehicle planning, transporter coordination, documentation, and

execution of dispatches to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of

materials.

Key Responsibilities

1. Planning & Requirement Mapping

• Plan daily/weekly/monthly vehicle requirements based on sales orders
• and dispatch targets
• Align shipment plans with supplier readiness and buyer delivery

• Optimize routes and vehicle utilization to reduce cost and delays

2. Transporter Allocation

• Identify and assign transporters for shipments based on location,
• availability, and cost
• Maintain a database of reliable transport vendors across regions
• Negotiate freight rates and ensure competitive pricing

3. Execution (Dispatch Management)

• Coordinate with suppliers for vehicle placement at loading points
• Ensure timely loading and dispatch of materials
• Supervise documentation required for dispatch (e.g., invoice, e-way bill, LR, weighbridge slips)

4. Documentation & Compliance

• Verify all transport and statutory documents required for inter-state movement
• Ensure compliance with GST, e-way bill norms, and company policies
• Maintain accurate shipment records

5. Monitoring & Tracking

• Track vehicles in transit and provide real-time updates to internal teams and buyers
• Proactively handle delays, breakdowns, or route issues
• Ensure timely delivery as per committed timelines

6. Delivery Coordination

• Coordinate with buyers for smooth unloading and proof of delivery (POD)
• Resolve on-ground delivery issues (delays, shortages, damages)

7. Billing & Payment Coordination

• Verify transporter invoices against agreed rates and trips completed
• Coordinate with accounts for invoice processing and approvals
• Ensure timely payment release to transporters

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of road logistics and freight operations in India
• Knowledge of transport documentation (Invoice, LR, E-way bill, POD, etc.)
• Good negotiation and vendor management skills
• Excellent coordination and communication abilities
• Problem-solving mindset with ability to handle real-time issues
• Proficiency in MS Excel (tracking, planning, MIS reporting)

Qualifications & Experience

Graduate in any discipline (Logistics/Supply Chain preferred)

2–5 years of experience in transport/logistics operations (preferably in

metal, steel, or commodity trading)
