Overhead Line Technician (Railway) – Germany
An Overhead Line Technician installs, maintains, and repairs the overhead electrical lines that supply power to trains in Germany.
Key Duties:
Install and inspect overhead power lines and support structures
Repair faults and ensure continuous power supply
Work with high-voltage systems following strict safety standards
Perform maintenance at heights using specialized equipment
Requirements:
Electrical or technical training
Basic knowledge of high-voltage systems
Physical fitness and ability to work at heights
Basic German language skills
Work Conditions:
Outdoor work in all weather
Shift duties, including nights and weekends
Salary (approx.): €2,500 – €3,800 per month depending on experience
