Our client is an Australian company, a leader in their industry, seeking an experienced and highly skilled Estimator to join their team remotely from India.

*Fixed 5-day working week, Monday to Friday, with a day shift*

THE ROLE:

The ideal candidate will prepare accurate cost estimates, perform quantity take-offs, and manage project specifications for residential construction. They will coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams, handle purchase orders and quotes, and ensure documentation and costing comply with Australian building standards for custom homes and knockdown-rebuild projects.

Role & responsibilities:-

• Review project drawings, specifications, and RFT documentation to confirm scope requirements.
• Complete detailed quantity take-offs, measurements, and drawing scale verification.
• Work collaboratively with project managers to ensure accurate project planning.
• Maintain and update historical cost data along with internal budget estimate spreadsheets and software.
• Ensure all documentation is correctly assigned, completed, and supported by an evidence-based audit trail.
• Conduct GFA analyses in Bluebeam and provide building classification breakdowns as required.
• Prepare budget estimates for external hydraulic services based on lineal metre calculations, service requirements, and ancillary components.
• Perform daily and weekly reporting as required.
• Assist with general administrative and follow-up tasks related to estimating and project setup.
• Organise and file all job-related documentation efficiently and accurately.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Desirable tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as an estimator in construction or hydraulic services.
• Strong understanding of Australian Building Codes and ability to identify building classifications under the NCC.
• High proficiency in Excel, MS Office Suite, and Bluebeam including GFA analysis workflows.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and validate drawing scales.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and accuracy in documentation.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Familiarity with the Rawlinson’s Construction Handbook or willingness to learn.
• Ability to learn and follow the organisations drawing sheet setup methodology.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team in a remote working environment.
