Job Scope
Manages strategic breakthrough categories to deliver year over year Quality Cost Logistics Development Management (QCLDM) performance improvement.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the development, communication, and implementation of a worldwide sourcing strategy for a specific category.
- Identifying performance gaps within the supply base and developing improvement plans for the identified gaps.
- Utilizing the QCLDM supplier development and measurement tool to ensure an ongoing improvement plan is in effect with key suppliers.
- Evaluating sustainable strategic options; deciding on a course of action and implementation.
Skill Descriptors
Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Negotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Audit and Compliance Function: Knowledge of major responsibilities and tasks of Audit and Compliance (A&C) function; ability to manage the operation of A&C function in various business environment.
Business Intelligence: Knowledge of business intelligence; ability to utilize business processes and technologies for gathering, storing, analyzing, and providing access to data that helps the organization make better business decisions.
Category Management: Knowledge of category management within an organization’s goods and services sector; ability to use this knowledge to analyze and improve the end-to-end procurement process and maximize business profitability.
Supplier Management – MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience, and skills into real practice.
Strategic Sourcing: Knowledge of strategic sourcing methods, technologies and processes; ability to analyze, improve and re-evaluate organizational procurement process continuously.
