Accounting Services Manager (US Accounting)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Services Manager to lead and develop our accounting team while ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of accounting services to multiple clients. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting expertise, team management experience, and a proven ability to improve processes, manage workflows, and drive operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
- 7+ years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years of team management experience.
Key Requirements
- Strong experience in bookkeeping, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation/review.
- Experience managing multiple client engagements in an accounting firm or outsourced accounting environment.
- Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing accounting teams.
- Experience creating and improving accounting processes, workflows, and SOPs.
- Strong understanding of Record-to-Report (R2R) processes.
- Experience with budgeting, WIP management, capacity planning, and engagement profitability.
- Ability to review financial reports, identify errors, and ensure high-quality client deliverables.
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication and client management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage the accounting team.
- Oversee bookkeeping, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting activities.
- Manage team capacity, workflow, and client deliverables to ensure deadlines are met.
- Develop and implement scalable processes and SOPs to improve efficiency and quality.
- Review financial statements and accounting work for accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor WIP, productivity, utilization, and engagement profitability.
- Support client onboarding, engagement management, and ongoing client relationships.
- Drive continuous process improvement and operational excellence.
- Prepare and present management reports and performance metrics.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with US-based clients and US GAAP.
- Experience with construction, nonprofit, or professional services clients.
- Exposure to financial analysis, budgeting, and KPI reporting.
