About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable & Reconciliations Officer to join our Finance team based in India, supporting our Australian operations.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within an international finance environment, supporting a high-performing Australian business. The role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, maintaining strong financial controls, and supporting month-end processes across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and reconciliations.
You will work closely with the Australia-based Finance Manager and wider finance team, playing a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial data and supporting efficient business operations.
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Match purchase orders, invoices and delivery documentation
- Ensure correct coding to general ledger accounts
- Prepare supplier payment runs for approval
- Manage supplier queries and maintain vendor records
- Reconcile supplier statements regularly
Accounts Receivable
- Raise customer invoices accurately and on time
- Allocate incoming payments to customer accounts
- Monitor outstanding debtor balances
- Follow up overdue accounts and support collections
- Maintain accurate customer account records
Reconciliations & Finance Support
- Perform regular bank reconciliations
- Complete supplier and customer account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end close processes
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records
- Support audit requirements and reporting requests
- Assist with general finance administration and reporting tasks
General Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Australia-based Finance team
- Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Support continuous improvement of finance processes and systems
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls
- Maintain confidentiality of financial data at all times
Qualifications
- 2–5 years’ experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable or finance operations
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Xero, SAP, NetSuite or similar)
- Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables advantageous)
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
- Experience working with international teams highly regarded
Required Skills
- Strong experience in AP and/or AR processing
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong numerical and analytical ability
- Ability to work to deadlines in a structured environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience in reconciliations and month-end support
- Exposure to Australian, UK or US accounting processes
- Experience in shared services or BPO finance environments
- ERP system experience (SAP, NetSuite, Xero)
