What makes the role meaty?
- Partner with sourcing and procurement teams to drive cost-effective purchasing decisions.
- Analyze vendor quotations, cost structures, and benchmark pricing across the industry.
- Support commercial negotiations with data-driven insights and cost-saving targets.
- Validate purchase orders against budgets and ensure financial compliance.
- Track, monitor, and report procurement savings against defined targets.
- Evaluate make-vs-buy decisions and prepare business cases for new initiatives.
- Assess internal costing and compare with external vendor pricing for optimization.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities, including alternate materials, design changes, and process improvements.
- Monitor market trends, inflation, and price movements impacting key categories.
- Ensure accurate cost allocation and collaborate with finance and operations for budgeting and forecasting.
- Identify risks, suggest alternate sourcing strategies, and support onboarding of cost-efficient vendors.
- Ensure procurement of the right product at the right price, with an understanding of material usage, packaging, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

- Engineering background or MBA in Finance / Operations / Supply Chain
- 5–7 years of post-qualification experience
- Experience in the retail industry, preferably with sourcing exposure
- Strong understanding of procurement finance and cost management
- Working knowledge of SAP is mandatory
