Position Title: Senior General Manager / Assistant Vice President – Procurement

Department: Raw Material Purchase / Procurement

Location: Ahmedabad

Reporting To: Directors

Job Purpose :

We are seeking an experienced procurement leader to drive sourcing strategy, vendor development, and commercial negotiations for agrochemical raw materials. The role will be responsible for managing high-volume global sourcing (primarily India & China), optimizing costs, and ensuring compliance with quality, regulatory, and EHS standards.

Key Responsibilities :

Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for key raw materials including technical grade pesticides, intermediates, and solvents
• Lead commercial negotiations and finalize long-term contracts to ensure competitive pricing and favorable terms

Vendor Management

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable domestic and international suppliers
• Build and maintain a strong supplier network with regular performance assessments

Cost Optimization

• Drive cost reduction initiatives and achieve annual savings targets
• Monitor global market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply risks

Supply Chain & Planning

• Ensure uninterrupted supply of raw materials and packaging materials to support manufacturing operations
• Minimize production downtime through efficient planning and coordination

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with R&D, Quality, Finance, and Warehouse teams
• Support new product development and ensure raw material quality standards

Compliance & EHS

• Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) guidelines
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements in sourcing practices

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor procurement teams
• Drive operational efficiency and best practices across procurement functions

Required Qualifications & Experience

• B.Sc. (Agri) / M.Sc. (Agri) / B.E. (Chemical) / B.Tech / MBA in Supply Chain or Materials Management
• 25–30 years of experience in procurement within Agrochemicals, Pesticides, or Specialty Chemicals
• Strong expertise in sourcing active ingredients, intermediates, and specialty chemicals
• Proven experience in global sourcing (especially China & India markets)
• Hands-on experience with SAP MM Module or similar ERP systems
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
• Willingness to travel extensively for global vendor development
