Portea Medical is India’s largest at-home healthcare company, delivering nursing care, physiotherapy, elder care, and medical equipment across 30+ cities. We serve over 780,000 patients through a network of thousands of clinical providers, including nursing attendants, nurses, and physiotherapists.
THE ROLE
Portea is at an inflection point. Demand for home healthcare in India is growing fast, and we have the brand, the infrastructure, and the patient base to capture it. The constraint is supply: we need to grow our clinical workforce 5-10x to meet the opportunity in front of us.
We are hiring a Head of Supply and Provider Operations to build and implement the playbook for that growth. Today, recruitment is fragmented across teams and geographies. We need one person who can design the system, set up the org, run dozens of experiments, and turn provider recruitment from an ad hoc function into a repeatable, scalable machine.
You will report to the COO, build a team of regional recruitment leads, and work with our product and technology teams on recruitment tools. The outcome you are measured on is providers placed.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Build and implement the playbook: design a repeatable, scalable system for recruiting clinical staff across geographies. Figure out which channels work, at what cost, and how to scale them. Then execute it, city by city
• Set up the org: hire and manage regional recruitment leads in each city. Build local teams. Define roles, targets, and cadences that work whether you’re in the room or not
• Run experiments: test sourcing channels aggressively: academy partnerships, referral campaigns, vendor staffing, digital recruitment, field outreach. Double down on what works, kill what doesn’t
• Own the funnel: track every stage of the recruitment pipeline. Know where leads drop off, which channels convert best, and where to invest next. The funnel is the scoreboard
WHO YOU ARE
• 8-12 years of total experience
• At least 2 years in supply acquisition or provider recruitment at a successful labour marketplace in India: Urban Company, Swiggy, Delhivery, Porter, Dunzo, or similar. You know what it takes to recruit a large blue-collar or semi-skilled workforce at scale
• You have done field work: visited training centres, managed ground-level sourcing, built relationships with local partners. You know what recruitment looks like outside a dashboard
• Elder care or home healthcare background is a strong plus
• You think in funnels. You can look at a recruitment pipeline and immediately see where it is leaking and what to fix
• Comfortable using technology (WhatsApp Business API, CRM tools, data dashboards) as force multipliers, not just manual processes
• You have built or managed distributed recruitment operations across multiple cities
LOCATION
Bengaluru, with regular travel to Hyderabad, Delhi-NCR, Chennai, and other operating cities.
