About The Role

Vistance Networks is recruiting an Analyst, IT Operations Linux, to join our team based in Hyderabad. The Analyst, IT Operations Linux, will be instrumental in maintaining and supporting our Unix-based enterprise infrastructure to ensure optimal availability and reliability. This role involves managing virtualized environments, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and planning for future capacity and upgrades. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Linux administration, virtualization technologies, and storage solutions, contributing to the seamless operation of our critical business systems.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background in IT or Computer Science, complemented by extensive hands-on experience. A minimum of 8 years of Linux administration experience is required, along with at least 5 years of related experience in Unix systems, VMware, and scripting. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in cloud tenant administration (AWS, GCP, or Azure), storage management (NAS/SAN), and configuration management tools such as Ansible. Experience with Solaris administration, Nutanix clusters, and systems management tools is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work effectively in a team environment are essential. Certifications in relevant technologies and experience with disaster recovery solutions will be considered advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Implement, manage, and maintain Vistance’s Unix-based enterprise infrastructure supporting critical business systems.
• Oversee storage solutions including SAN and NAS for Linux, Nutanix, and VMware environments, ensuring data integrity and performance.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve complex system malfunctions, working closely with vendors to address hardware and software issues.
• Monitor system usage, capacity, and performance metrics, liaising with users and vendors to optimize operations and plan for future requirements.
• Maintain comprehensive system documentation, including hardware and software inventories, licensing, security protocols, and user manuals.
• Plan and execute system upgrades, hardware installations, and software configurations to enhance infrastructure capabilities.
• Ensure robust backup and disaster recovery procedures are in place, regularly testing and refining backup strategies.
• Administer Linux (UNIX) systems and scripting to automate tasks, improve efficiency, and support system stability.
• Manage VMware vSphere environments, ensuring high availability and optimal resource utilization.
• Configure and troubleshoot networking components such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and related hardware to support seamless connectivity.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
• Manage ticketing queues, resolve technical issues promptly, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Participate in project planning, execution, and documentation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
