B. About the Role:

Candidate should be able to assist in execution of assignments in Regulatory, Policy and Commercial related matters pertaining to Power Generation / Transmission / Distribution Utilities. The person shall be responsible for preparing and filing petitions, analyzing Commission orders, submitting replies and other regulatory filings in matters related to renewable energy and allied commercial issues. The candidate should be well-versed with the regulatory aspects as well as financial aspects required for undertaking such engagements. Advising on the amendments to different Regulations, Acts, Policies, and Plan etc. and periodic review of regulatory developments in SERC / CEA/ MOP would also be required. Candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to Power Distribution Utility in all day-to-day and routine regulatory and commercial matters. The key responsibilities of this role will include the following:

C. Detailed expectations from the role:

• Support in commercial matters for the DISCOM such as metering, billing, collection, including analysis of data for gathering commercial insights.
• Provided advisory support on Central and State policy directives, tariff implications, and regulatory compliance to safeguard DISCOM revenue and improve overall performance outcomes.
• Reviewed and analyzed regulatory frameworks and policies across multiple States, benchmarked best practices, and recommended suitable amendments for adoption into State-specific regulations.
• Conducted tariff and financial impact analyses, including incentive evaluation, to assess the effect of renewable energy schemes on DISCOM revenues and cost of supply.
• Prepared and vetted regulatory submissions, petitions, and detailed replies before the State Electricity Regulatory Commission, ensuring compliance with the Electricity Act, Supply Code, and tariff regulations.
• Provided regulatory and policy implementation support for national flagship renewable energy programs such as PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and PM-KUSUM, ensuring compliance with statutory frameworks, alignment with evolving policy objectives, and smooth execution at the field level.
• Conduct various studies recommended by the commission (SERC), including cost-of-service studies for different categories or voltage levels.
• Ensured regulatory compliance with Central Ministry of Power (MoP) directives, State Commission regulations, and nodal agency guidelines, including interpretation of provisions and assessment of financial implications.
• Monitored national regulatory developments and Cross-State policy initiatives, and provided strategic regulatory inputs to strengthen and update State policy frameworks.
• Handle filing and responses to petitions before SERC during public hearings.
• Analyze SERC orders pertaining to Power Distribution Utility, assess the impact, and recommend further action, including filing review petitions, if necessary.
• Manager level position will have expectations to work in additional areas including business development.
• Business Development & Outreach: Engage in business development activities, including preparing proposals, concept notes, discussion papers, and brochures. Actively support organizing roundtables, workshops, and stakeholder engagements.
• Develop understanding of the power sector across domains including policy and regulatory, bid process, renewable, etc.
• Assume responsibility of assigned tasks and lead them during execution.
• Ensure the timely completion of assigned tasks and provide prompt assistance to team members.
• Develop excel models, business presentations for senior management discussions.
• Support Teams in delivering engagements.
• Stay abreast with the latest developments in the sector.
• Work in different project teams to pursue the completion of the client deliverables with high quality and in agreed timelines.

• Proven experience in handling regulatory & commercial matters within the electricity distribution sector.
• Familiarity with distribution schemes in the energy industry.

E. Education and Experience

• BE/B. Tech (preferably in Electrical) and MBA (preferably in Power/ Finance)
• More than 5 Years.

• Base location shall be Hisar, Haryana.
