Role: Manager- Tax & Compliance

Base Location: Navi Mumbai

Reporting to: Director – GSC Finance

Key Role Responsibilities

• Provide supervision of the following activities:
• Preparation of and review VAT returns for Middle east region with strong technical knowledge
• Tax reconciliations performed during preparation of VAT returns
• Customs’ reconciliation reports with the books
• VAT return submission & payments as per the set deadlines
• Work with business in understanding the queries and resolving them with respect to VAT
• Review data for completeness and accuracy; coordinate follow-ups as needed
• Develop control checklists and ensure strong governance including checks on the quality of returns
• Supervise the tax refunds process
• Follow up the tax audit queries with internal & external auditors
• Monitor changes in tax laws/regulations and assess the impact on the organization’s operations
• Support in assessing tax compliance requirements for new projects
• Support audit-related data collection and response preparation
• Contribute to software implementation/migration efforts and process improvement initiatives
• Help tax leaders identify the tax risks and recommend actions
• Drive change through transition of work for Clients from UAE location to global center including setting-up and expansion of tax COE
• Work with local leadership in developing the tax function and provide guidance to finance and non-finance departments regarding tax compliance requirements
• Skills & Competencies:
• Strong technical knowledge of tax laws, compliance, and advisory practices
• Analytical mindset with a structured and detail-oriented approach
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
• Fluency in English
• Open and adaptable attitude, embracing diverse challenges in a supportive and dynamic environment
• Proficient in ERPs – SAP, Oracle, etc
• Preferably 6-10 years’ experience in direct and indirect tax compliances
• Experience of handling Taxation and accounting functions of multiple legal entities

Education & Qualifications:

• Minimum 6-8 years of experience in UAE VAT and Indirect Tax compliance.
• Strong background in UAE VAT and Indirect tax compliance
• Familiarity with tax preparation and tools knowledge is preferred
• CA or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is desirable
