Network Software Engineer Full Time

Plan A Technologies is looking for a Network Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain software that integrates network platforms, IT systems, and data stores. This role owns end-to-end integrations—including APIs, events, and ETL—to ensure reliable data flow and deliver performant, secure services across cloud and on-prem environments.

You will deploy services using AWS compute and maintain integrations with tools like Jira, ServiceNow, Kafka, and GitHub. This position requires operating and optimizing Postgres SQL/MySQL and focusing on high-throughput reads/writes. You will lead technical conversations, gather requirements, and translate operational workflows into scalable integrations while collaborating across NetOps, Cloud, Security, and Data Engineering teams.

Please note: you must have at least 5+ years of experience as a Network Software Engineer to be considered for this role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY & EXPERIENCE:

• Design, build, and maintain software that integrates network platforms, IT systems, and data stores.
• Own end‑to‑end integrations (APIs, events, ETL), ensure reliable data flow, and deliver performant, secure services across cloud/on‑prem environments.
• Strong experience designing and deploying services using AWS compute, IAM, Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, S3, RDS, VPC, etc.
• Build/maintain integrations with: Jira, ITSM (ServiceNow/Jira Service Management), messaging (Kafka/RabbitMQ)observability (Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/EFK), CMDB/asset (ServiceNow CMDB), source control/CI (GitHub)
• Design/consume REST and RPC APIs; author OpenAPI/Swagger
• Strong SQL and data modeling, query tuning with execution plans and indexes.
• Operate and optimize Postgres SQL/MySQL
• Focus on high‑throughput reads/writes, and time‑series databases
• Practical understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP(S), TLS, load balancers, proxies, and service discovery
• Proficiency in C# / JS, React/typescript. Python (nice to have)
• Ability to leverage Co-Pilot and guide agentic AI
• Microservices, containers, and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Robust testing (unit/integration/contract/e2e) and rollback strategies
• Strong communicator who can lead technical conversations, gather requirements, and translate operational workflows into scalable integrations.
• Collaborates across NetOps, Cloud, Security, and Data Engineering teams.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Excellent organizational, problem solver, and analytical abilities
• Outstanding communication, and interpersonal skills
