Partner/Director- Indirect Tax Full Time NEW

We are looking for a dynamic and technically strong Indirect Tax professional to lead the IDT function. This role combines compliance oversight, advisory, litigation, client management, and team leadership, along with a focus on practice development and growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Compliance Management & Review

• Oversee end-to-end GST compliance including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, and GSTR-9C
• Review GST workings, reconciliations (books vs returns), and ensure accuracy
• Handle GST registrations, amendments, LUT filings, and refunds
• Conduct periodic GST health checks and compliance audits
• Set up and improve internal compliance processes and SOPs for clients

2. Advisory & Consulting

• Provide advisory on GST, Customs, and FTP matters
• Handle classification, valuation, and structuring issues
• Assist clients with transaction advisory and tax optimization

3. Litigation & Representation

• Draft replies to notices, SCNs, and departmental queries
• Handle GST audits, investigations, and assessments
• Represent clients before GST authorities and appellate forums

4. Client Management

• Independently manage and grow client relationships
• Act as SPOC for key IDT clients
• Identify cross-selling opportunities (VCFO, Audit, Direct Tax, etc.)

5. Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and review work of team members
• Ensure quality control and timely delivery
• Conduct internal training on GST updates and practical issues

6. Practice Development

• Support business development and proposal pitching
• Build industry-focused IDT capabilities
• Contribute to thought leadership (articles, seminars, client updates)

Qualifications & Experience

• Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory
• Around 10 years of experience in Indirect Tax (GST)
• Experience in CA firms / consulting firms is highly preferred
• Strong exposure to compliance + advisory + litigation
• Individual CA practitioners / proprietors looking for merger or association are also encouraged to apply
