Environmental Regulatory boadies are released stringent policy revisions and constantly increasing the number
of compliance norms to be met by Cement Manufaturing Industries. Regular audits and surveys by
environmental governance officials have made it necessary for all units to continuously ensure emission and
other controls are robust and no deviation from the mandated compliance levels occur. The criticality of
continuous monitoring and timely reporting of environmental compliance information to regulatory bodies is
high as it impacts plant operations directly through receipt of closure notices, directions, non renewals of
consents as well as environmental clearences.

1. Environmental Sustainability Planning
Prepare annual budgets for the Environment Department of
the unit based on upcoming renewal applications for
consents, improvement studies, 3rd party survey reports
and compliance monitoring activities to be performed
around the year requiring capex approvals.
2. Environmental Compliance Management
(Internal Compliance Audits)
Implement a robust compliance monitoring process to
ensure all controls across various departments/functions in
the unit are measured periodically as per the environmental
risk-control framework through continuous monitoring and
highlight non-compliances and red flags that need
immediate intervention
Build and roll-out action plans to close the NCs and achieve
all mandatory compliances as well as track progress on
commitments. Periodic progress reports to be prepared and
submitted to DH-Compliance
Conduct periodic monitoring and reporting of all
equipments that impact the emmision/pollution control
levels as per set mandates to ensure its performance and
calibration are as per regulatory norms/guidlines
Facilitate for smooth execution of various Environmental &
Legal compliance audits by internal / external / legal /
system / award agencies like CII , NCCBM etc.
Promptly highlight the directions/notices recieved from
state regulatory bodies to the DH – Compliance along with
justification and corrective measures to rectify the deviation

Complaince team (PF-Compliance) in a timely manner to aid
upload on Ultratech’s Website as per regulatory norms
3. Environmental Clearances
(Implementation Support)
Provide all relevant data, reports and information required
for successful completion of baseline and other 3rd party
surveys being performed by external consultants to develop
various Assessment Reports as part of the Environmental
Clearence application process (EIA, CGWA etc.).
Ensure all assessment and survey reports are submitted at
Regional Offices(RO) and local governing bodies for
approval and further processing at Central Ministry
Co-ordinate with multiple stakeholders internal and
external for successful Public Hearings conducted by Corp
Head- Env. Ensure participation from all local governing
bodies as per EC mandate and timely circulations of MoMs
of public hearing with approvals from RO and District
Collector and further processing of EC application by Central
Ministry
4. Stakeholder Engagament (External)
Build strong relationships with senior officials of
environmental regulatory bodies at the Regional Head
Offices authorised to process consents and clearance
applications
Consistently liason with officials at the Regional Env. Offices
to obtain timely approvals on pending applications and
movement of application to Regional Office and then
Central Ministry Office for final approval and clearance
Co-ordinate for arrangements for site vists conducted by
Regional Env. Officials from time to time and provide
relevant reports and data of the unit as required without
delays
Stakeholder Engagement (Internal)
Deliver awareness sessions to DH/ Section Heads/PF of
various Functions at units on Environmental Policies and
regulatory compliances requirements of their respective
functions as well as best practices to achieve the action
plans committed to the ministry to ensure zero lacunae in
meeting the mandatory controls.
5. Environmental Data Digitisation (E-MIS)
Ensure that all compliance related data for the unit is timely
and accurately updated in the E-MIS
6. Environmental Compliance Capability Building
Attend domain knowledge trainings conducted by external
agencies as well as relevant internal trainings of the unit
that impact highl level of adoption of compliance
framework
