Job Context & Major Challenges

Job Context: Dalla Cement Woks has clinker manufacturing capacity of 2.00 MTPA (Line-1: 1500 TPD Line-2: 4500 TPD) and cement capacity of 0.5 MTPA with one 27 MW Captive Power Plant.

The units has a lease area of 1865.433 Ha out of which Mining Lease has been granted for 1330.247 Ha with balance limestone reserves of around 216 Lac MT.

The cement plant is located around 120 km from Varanasi on Varanasi – Pipari SH-5 on the southern bank of river Sone.

Dalla Cement Works complies with all the conditions stipulated in environment clearance given by Ministry of Environment and Forests.

Job Challenges

• To ensure safe operation while maintaining cost and continuously improvement in productivity with high deterrents such as higher lift, high lead with transportation through Public road having frequent stoppages at Railway Crossings, huge number of mining fleet of smaller capacity in operation, two mines in operation.
• To manage a large workforce with ageing and bring about a cultural change in among them.3. Systematic development of mines in such a way that mine progresses regularly using mix of various benches, simultaneous development of roads, removal of overburden & water management from pit with overall cost effective operation is a key challenge.
• Meeting quality requirements of Plant due to Quality constraints as the deposit having Low Lime and High MgO.
• Compliance of legal requirements because of contractual mining and transportation through Public Road.

KRA1 Lime stone supply : Assist superior to coordinate excavation, transporting and crushing activities for timely supply of right quality and quantity of Limestone to stacker reclaimer as per the cement plant requirement a) Select the benches, get the quality tested of the material

b) Organize for operation of HEMM & Crusher

c) Blend the material to arrive at the average desired quality

d) Gather information about the pile position

e) Take corrective action on deviation in quality and quantity

KRA2 Mine Development: Assist superior to coordinate the excavation operation to create faces, roads and benches ,as per the overall mine development plan, fulfilling statutory requirements a) Organize excavation to support the road formations, dressing of benches, formation of benches etc.

b) Plan for the safe Mine working as per the Mines Act

KRA3 Cost & Productivity : Assist superior to Monitor & take corrective action in achieving productivity in HEMM operations and crushing to optimize mining cost a) Monitor the dumpers and loaders / excavator / crusher productivity daily

b) Deploy the HEMM etc. in a manner that idling is reduced

c) Educate & motivate operators to achieve higher productivity

d) Optimize crusher utilization

KRA4 OB Removal: Assist superior to coordinate the removal of soil over the mine surface , as per the mining plan to make surface available for drilling & blasting a) Deploy machinery when stand by for OB removal

b) Dump the soil as planed to create the desired bunds etc.

c) Supervise & guide over burden removal contractor

d) Arrange dozing for cleaning the ground

KRA5 Safety: Ensure safe operation of all the equipment’s in his shift and comply with statutory requirements a) Allocate equipment operation as per job and skill

b) Ensure and implement rules and regulations for safe working

c) Educate & motivate worker for safe operation.

KRA6 System Implementation: The system requirements of ISO, EMS, OHSAS, SA 8000 and WCM systems in thorough the involvement of employees for improving working and quality standards. a) Identify and improvement study and kaizen

b) Coordinate for WCM KMFA

c) 5S activities and implementation plan for quality improvement objectives, improvement of WCM criteria score

d) Internal customer rating improvement

e) Statutory compliance and elimination of MUDA
