About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager – Business Intelligence who has grown through the ranks from a hands-on Data Engineer into a leadership role. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth in data engineering along with proven experience managing BI and data initiatives end-to-end.

You will lead the delivery of Business Intelligence and data platform projects, ensuring seamless execution across data engineering, analytics, and business teams. This role is ideal for someone who deeply understands data pipelines, warehousing, and analytics architectures, and can effectively bridge technical implementation with business objectives.

What You’ll Do:

Project Leadership & Delivery

• Lead end-to-end delivery of Business Intelligence and data engineering projects.
• Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and success metrics in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, and dependencies proactively.
• Oversee sprint planning, milestone tracking, and delivery governance.
• Monitor project financials, including cost tracking and invoicing.
• Ensure adherence to Calfus’s project management and delivery best practices.

Team Coordination & Stakeholder Management

• Translate business requirements into structured technical deliverables in collaboration with data engineers, BI developers, and architects.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, analytics, IT, and business stakeholders.
• Manage expectations across clients, leadership teams, and delivery squads.
• Provide regular project updates, risk assessments, and executive-level reporting.
• Mentor and guide technical team members based on prior hands-on experience.

Data & Analytics Focus

• Drive design and implementation of scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT frameworks.
• Support architecture and implementation of data warehouses and modern Lakehouse solutions.
• Ensure best practices in data modeling (Star & Snowflake schemas), performance optimization, and governance.
• Oversee BI reporting and visualization initiatives using tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, compliance, and security standards are maintained.

Operational Excellence

• Maintain structured project documentation including plans, RAID logs, financial trackers, and governance dashboards.
• Drive continuous process improvements to enhance delivery efficiency and transparency.
• Ensure alignment with Agile/Scrum methodologies and hybrid delivery models.
• Support risk management, escalation handling, and stakeholder conflict resolution proactively.

On Your First Day, We’ll Expect You to Have:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of overall experience in data and analytics environments.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer (ETL/ELT development, data modeling, data warehousing).
• 3+ years of experience managing BI or data platform projects end-to-end.

Strong understanding of:

1. Data warehousing concepts (Star & Snowflake schemas)
2. ETL/ELT tools and pipeline architecture
3. SQL and dimensional data modeling
4. Cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
5. BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with cloud-native data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or BigQuery.
• PMP, Scrum Master, or equivalent certification (preferred but not mandatory).
• Experience leading distributed or offshore teams.
• Exposure to data governance, compliance, and security frameworks.
