Senior Java Developer Full Time

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to mission-critical healthcare data systems that support real-time immunization intelligence and public health decision-making. You will work on complex backend and integration systems that connect large-scale healthcare data sources across public and private sectors. The position involves full-cycle software development, from design and coding to testing and deployment, within a highly collaborative engineering environment. Accountabilities

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and enhancing scalable Java-based applications that power healthcare data systems and analytics platforms:

• Develop, test, and deploy high-quality Java applications across the full software development lifecycle.
• Design and maintain backend systems using Java frameworks such as Spring and related technologies.
• Build and integrate RESTful web services and APIs for data exchange across healthcare systems.
• Work with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and write optimized SQL queries for performance and reliability.
• Participate in Agile SCRUM teams, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and continuous improvement.
• Apply SDLC best practices including version control, CI/CD, unit testing, and test-driven development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system scalability, security, and data integrity.
• Support frontend integration using JavaScript frameworks and UI technologies when required.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly experienced Java developer with strong backend engineering expertise and exposure to enterprise-scale applications, preferably in healthcare environments:

• 8+ years of experience in Java application development.
• Strong experience with Java frameworks such as Spring, Struts, JSF, Play, or similar.
• Hands-on experience with application servers like Tomcat or Oracle AS.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful web services, XML, HTML, CSS, and backend integration.
• Solid experience with relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server and advanced SQL skills.
• 3-5 years of experience with JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery or AngularJS.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, version control, and Agile SCRUM methodologies.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment with strong accountability.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and strong analytical thinking.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on complex technical challenges.
• Nice to have: experience with HL7 standards and US healthcare systems.
