HIRING System Engineer – IT/OT Integration (Pharmaceuticals)

Role Overview: 

We are seeking an experienced System Engineer specializing in IT/OT Integration to support pharmaceutical (Biotechnology) manufacturing environments. The role involves integrating industrial automation systems with enterprise IT infrastructure, ensuring secure data flow, system reliability, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on automation expertise with strong networking, scripting, and system architecture capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and support IT/OT integrated solutions in production environments.

• Configure and maintain industrial automation and networking infrastructure.

• Develop and maintain UNIX shell scripts and Windows automation scripts for operational efficiency.

• Implement secure OT → IT data flows while ensuring system reliability and compliance.

• Integrate industrial platforms including Ignition, HiveMQ, MQTT, and HighByte.

• Configure and manage industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA, MQTT, BACnet, and Modbus.

• Design system architecture diagrams, integration documentation, and operational runbooks.

• Work closely with engineering, IT, operations, and business stakeholders in agile teams.

• Install, configure, and manage SQL and NoSQL databases, including historian connectivity.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–10 years of experience in IT/OT integration or industrial automation environments.

• Strong experience with industrial communication protocols:

• OPC UA

• MQTT

• BACnet

• Modbus

• Experience integrating platforms such as Ignition, HiveMQ, or HighByte.

• Hands-on experience with industrial network configuration and security.

• Strong scripting skills in:

• UNIX/Linux Shell

• Windows scripting / automation

• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.

• Ability to design system architecture and integration diagrams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in life sciences / pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.

• Knowledge of industrial data historians and connectivity solutions.

• Familiarity with enterprise architecture documentation tools.

• Experience working in Agile environments.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
