Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, administer, and maintain Unix/Linux servers in enterprise environments.
Perform regular system monitoring, health checks, and performance tuning.
Manage user accounts, permissions, file systems, and access controls.
Handle server patching, upgrades, and security hardening activities.
Monitor system logs and troubleshoot hardware, OS, and application-related issues.
Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
Configure and manage services such as DNS, NFS, SSH, FTP, SMTP, and cron jobs.
Automate routine administrative tasks using Shell scripting, Bash, Python, or Perl.
Work with virtualization technologies and cloud platforms when required.
Ensure server availability, reliability, and compliance with organizational policies.
Coordinate with application, network, storage, and security teams for issue resolution.
Participate in incident management, change management, and problem management activities.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation and SOPs.
Required Skills:
Strong experience in Unix/Linux administration (AIX, Solaris, HP-UX, Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.).
Knowledge of server installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Experience with Shell scripting and automation tools.
Understanding of networking concepts, TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, SSH, and firewalls.
Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, or PRTG.
Familiarity with backup tools and storage management.
Knowledge of VMware, virtualization, or cloud environments is an advantage.
Understanding of ITIL processes and ticketing tools such as ServiceNow or Remedy.
