Vice President, Infrastructure Engineering

Job Overview

The Vice President of Infrastructure Engineering is a senior technology leader responsible for the engineering, delivery, and operational excellence of enterprise infrastructure platforms across on‑premises and cloud environments. This role manages infrastructure engineers as well as embedded Scrum Masters and Product Owners, ensuring strong people leadership, disciplined delivery, and alignment between platform strategy and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Organization Management

• Lead and manage a multi‑disciplinary organization consisting of infrastructure engineers, Scrum Masters, and Product Owners
• Establish clear roles, accountability, and operating rhythms across engineering and delivery functions
• Develop talent through coaching, performance management, and career progression planning
• Build a culture of ownership, transparency, and continuous improvement across technical and delivery teams

Infrastructure Engineering (On‑Prem & Cloud)

• Provide executive leadership with deep working knowledge of on‑premises infrastructure engineering, including compute, storage, networking, virtualization, data center operations, and disaster recovery
• Provide executive leadership with strong understanding of cloud infrastructure engineering, including public cloud platforms, cloud networking, identity, security, resiliency, and cost governance
• Ensure infrastructure engineering practices are consistent, scalable, and aligned across on‑prem and cloud environments
• Partner with Architecture to translate enterprise standards into executable engineering designs and operational models
• Drive platform reliability, performance, availability, and security across hybrid environments

Agile Delivery & Product Leadership

• Provide oversight and leadership to Scrum Masters responsible for Agile execution, delivery discipline, and predictability
• Ensure Product Owners define clear platform roadmaps, outcomes, and prioritized backlogs for infrastructure services
• Align infrastructure engineering work to product‑centric outcomes and enterprise priorities
• Establish and review delivery metrics (predictability, throughput, quality, operational health) across teams
• Actively manage dependencies, risks, and delivery commitments across infrastructure initiatives

Cloud & Hybrid Platform Strategy

• Lead execution of the firm’s hybrid infrastructure strategy spanning on‑prem, private cloud, and public cloud platforms
• Guide engineering teams through cloud adoption, platform modernization, and legacy infrastructure decommissioning
• Ensure cloud and on‑prem platforms meet enterprise governance, security, resiliency, and compliance requirements
• Drive automation, Infrastructure‑as‑Code, and self‑service capabilities across environments

Transformation & Program Execution

• Serve as an infrastructure leader for large‑scale initiatives such as data center exits, cloud migration, and platform modernization
• Own infrastructure readiness, engineering delivery, and operational handoff for enterprise programs
• Provide executive‑level reporting on platform health, delivery progress, risks, and capacity
• Act as an escalation point for complex cross‑team, cross‑platform infrastructure issues
