The Role

This role plays a key part in supporting the successful operation and growth of TBS Engineering’s India distribution hub, combining financial leadership with hands-on warehouse and operational management.

As Warehouse and Finance Lead, India, you will take ownership of the day-to-day running of the site, ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective operations across finance, inventory, logistics, and warehouse activities.

This is a high-ownership role requiring a proactive and self-driven individual who can establish scalable processes, maintain operational control, and support the continued development of the India hub. The role will work closely with central sales, supply chain, finance, and aftermarket teams globally.

Key Responsibilities – Finance & Accounting

• Maintain accurate financial records, journals, ledgers, and supporting documentation
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, including invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and reconciliations
• Perform bank, inventory, and intercompany reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Prepare and manage site budgets, cost tracking, and variance analysis
• compliance with Indian statutory and tax requirements including GST, TDS, TCS, PF, ESI, PT, and Income Tax
• Coordinate internal and external audits and maintain compliance documentation
• Manage banking activities, payment uploads, and statutory payments
• Support import/export documentation, customs compliance, and coordination with logistics and banking partners
• Work with external consultants to ensure compliance with Companies Act and RBI/FEMA regulations
• Prepare regular financial and operational reports for management review

Warehouse & Operations Management

• Take ownership of day-to-day warehouse operations including inbound, storage, inventory, and outbound activities
• Manage goods receipt, put-away, picking, packing, and dispatch processes
• Ensure accurate inventory control through cycle counts, stock audits, and reconciliation activities
• Investigate inventory variances and implement corrective actions where required
• Develop and improve warehouse processes, SOPs, and operational controls
• Ensure accurate ERP transaction processing within IFS systems, including inventory and finance modules
• Coordinate with transport providers and internal teams to support on-time order fulfilment
• Monitor and control warehouse operating costs including storage, handling, and transportation
• Ensure compliance with warehouse safety standards, statutory regulations, and company policies
• Supervise and support the Warehouse Coordinator, including task allocation, training, and performance management

Operational Leadership & Continuous Improvement

• Act as the primary point of accountability for overall site performance (excluding sales activities)
• Build scalable operational processes to support future growth of the India hub
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse, inventory, and finance operations
• Support process standardisation and reporting consistency across global aftermarket operations
• Collaborate closely with global supply chain, finance, aftermarket, and operations teams
• Ensure all activities are carried out in line with company policies, health & safety requirements, and Berkshire Hathaway ethical guidelines

• Inventory accuracy and stock reconciliation performance
• On-time dispatch and order fulfilment metrics
• Reduction in inventory discrepancies and aged stock
• Warehouse operating cost control vs budget
• AR/AP accuracy and payment cycle performance
• Timely completion of statutory filings and compliance activities
• Audit compliance and reduction in non-conformance findings
• ERP transaction accuracy and reporting quality
• Implementation and effectiveness of warehouse SOPs and process improvements
• Operational uptime and efficiency of warehouse activities
• Successful scaling and operational readiness of the India hub

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• BCom / MCom qualification with 10–12 years’ experience, or CA qualification with 3–5 years’ experience
• Experience within finance, warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain environments
• Strong knowledge of Indian GAAP, GST, Income Tax, and statutory compliance requirements
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as IFS or similar platforms
• Experience managing inventory accounting, reconciliation, and operational reporting
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, logistics coordination, and inventory control principles
• High proficiency in Excel, reporting tools, and data analysis
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a high-ownership operational role
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
