Responsibilities and duties.

• Hands-on experience with switching, routing, and security components of enterprise networks.
• Hands-on experience with implementing and maintaining encryption techniques and standards (AES, 3DES, PKI, SHA, MD5, SSH, SSL), in a client and site-to-site configuration.
• Design, implement, and maintain firewall infrastructure, including firewalls, VPN gateways, and related security appliances.
• Develop and enforce firewall policies, rules, and access control lists based on industry best practices and organizational security requirements.
• Monitor firewall logs and alerts to identify and respond to security incidents, threats, and vulnerabilities promptly.
• Conduct periodic firewall audits to ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with network engineers and system administrators to troubleshoot and resolve firewall-related issues and connectivity problems.
• Perform regular firewall software upgrades and patch management to maintain system stability and security.
• Stay updated on the latest network security trends, vulnerabilities, and technologies to identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies proactively.
• Document firewall configurations, policies, and procedures for future reference and knowledge sharing.
• Support and guide other IT teams and end-users regarding firewall-related inquiries and issues.
• Participate in incident response activities, including investigating security breaches and assisting with forensic analysis.
• Any professional certification in network security, such as CCNA, CCNP Security or Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE).
• Experience with next-generation firewall technologies and advanced security features.
• Knowledge of cloud-based firewall solutions, such as AWS Security Groups or Azure Network Security Groups.
• Experience with network monitoring and analysis tools, such as Wireshark or SolarWinds.

Experience, Skills And Qualifications.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong experience in firewall administration, including configuring, managing, and troubleshooting enterprise-class firewalls.
• Risk and vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on enterprise networks.
• In-depth knowledge of network security protocols, standards, and technologies, such as IPsec, SSL/TLS, VPN, IDS/IPS, and AAA.
• Proficiency in firewall management tools and platforms, such as FortiGate, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks.
• Solid understanding of network routing and switching concepts, TCP/IP, VLANs, and subnetting.
• Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards, such as ISO 27001.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment.
• Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
• Graduate or Post-Graduate or related professional qualifications.
