Role Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and strategic Procurement Lead to manage our end-to-end sourcing operations. You will be responsible for securing premium, sustainably sourced timber and artisanal materials essential for our hand-carved furniture. The ideal candidate balances cost-efficiency with an uncompromising eye for wood quality and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute procurement strategies for high-quality hardwoods, ensuring they meet specific carving requirements and design standards.
•  Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable timber suppliers and artisanal hardware vendors. Foster long-term relationships to ensure supply continuity.
• Sustainability & Compliance: Ensure all wood is sourced from well-managed forests, prioritizing FSC-certified or reclaimed materials. Maintain compliance with local and international timber regulations.
•  Negotiation & Cost Control: Lead negotiations for pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to maximize value without compromising on quality.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct site visits and factory inspections to verify the moisture content, grain quality, and grade of timber before purchase.
• Inventory & Logistics: Coordinate with Production and Warehouse teams to forecast demand and manage stock levels to prevent delays in the carving process.
• Reporting: Track and report key metrics such as cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement cycle times.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years in procurement, ideally within the luxury furniture or woodworking industry.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of wood species (e.g., Teak, Rosewood, Walnut), timber grading, and the impact of seasoning on carving.
• Negotiation: Proven ability to secure favorable terms with both large-scale timber mills and small-scale artisanal vendors.
•  Analytical Skills: Proficient in data analysis and ERP/procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Excel) for spend analysis and forecasting.
• ·Ethics: A strong commitment to sustainable and ethical sourcing practices.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
