Internship Overview
Are you a data-savvy Master’s student passionate about turning insights into business growth? We’re seeking a Business and Data Analytics Intern for Business Development to bootstrap and scale our core services using free, publicly available data and open-source tools. In this hands-on role, you’ll leverage analytics to identify market opportunities, generate qualified leads, and prototype solutions for client acquisition—without relying on proprietary datasets or software. Reporting to the Business Development Lead, you’ll focus on foundational analysis to launch ventures like EOR hiring solutions, international student recruitment for partner universities, comprehensive business services for global SMEs, immigration support for non-EU talent, and innovative student-focused initiatives in the Netherlands (e.g., bike rentals, a student app, food delivery, and freelance platforms).
This internship is perfect for candidates with experience in business analysis or IT, skilled in Python, SQL, Power BI/Tableau (free tiers), and Agile methodologies. You’ll build reusable templates from scratch, drawing on public sources like Eurostat, Kaggle, and World Bank data, to deliver actionable reports that kickstart our growth.
Key Responsibilities
Embrace a phased approach: Start with data discovery (sourcing free datasets via APIs and downloads), move to prototyping (using Google Colab, Excel, and Tableau Public), and end with insight delivery (via shareable PDFs and Google Slides). You’ll allocate 20% of time to data cleaning/governance, ensuring high-quality outputs.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in (or recently completed) a Master’s in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or related field (e.g., focus on ML, visualization, data management).
- Experience in business analysis, IT transformation, or data roles (e.g., dashboard building, process optimization).
- Strong proficiency in free/open-source tools: Python (via Google Colab), SQL, Excel/Google Sheets, Power BI Desktop/Tableau Public.
- Familiarity with project management (Agile/Scrum, Trello/Jira alternatives) and stakeholder coordination in multicultural settings.
- Tech exposure: Basic AWS/Azure (free tiers), databases; soft skills like analytical thinking, adaptability, and problem-solving.
- Languages: Fluent English; intermediate Dutch or other EU languages a plus for outreach.
- Eligible for professionalization contracts or EU work authorization; willing to relocate to the Netherlands.
- Passion for emerging tech, international trade, CSR, and student empowerment—bonus if you’ve participated in volunteering.
