Business Intelligence Developer Full Time

We are seeking a Senior Power BI Developer to help support and play a critical

role in rebuilding and scaling our semantic models, existing and new dashboards, and

reporting layer. This role will work hand-in-hand with our Senior Data Engineer (India

based), and US based data leaders to redesign existing analytics into a more

performant, maintainable, and scalable solution.

Skill Set & Responsibilities

1. Semantic Model Analysis & Optimization

• Lead the redesign and optimization of Power BI semantic models, including
• relationships, measures, calculation logic, and overall structure
• Identify performance bottlenecks and data modeling issues
• Reduce existing technical debt by simplifying models, improving star schema,
• optimizing DAX
• Partner with data engineers to shape curated, analytics-ready tables in Microsoft
• Fabric
• Ensure adherence to best practices (naming standards, reusable measures,
• clean modeling)

2. Report Review & Enhancement

• Review existing reports and dashboards and provide recommendations for
• usability, clarity, and performance
• Redesign visuals and interactions (navigation, drill-through) for improved
• storytelling and business impact while aligning with updated models and
• standards
• Support migration from legacy reports to standardized PowerBI solutions

3. New Report Development

• Design and develop new Power BI reports by translating business requirements
• into clear, intuitive, and performant visualizations
• Build scalable data models and advanced DAX measures to support reporting
• needs

4. Technical Collaboration with Data Engineering

• Partner closely with US and India data engineers to validate data structures,
• transformations, and metric logic
• Use SQL and PySpark to understand and validate upstream data
• Provide feedback on data structures from a BI performance and usability
• perspective

5. Performance, Reliability and Maintenance

• Optimize dataset refresh times and memory usage
• Support monitoring and triage of PowerBI refresh failures
• Troubleshoot DAX, model, and performance issues
• Support reliable daily, weekly, and monthly reporting operations

6. Governance & Best Practices

• Help create established standards for DAX development, naming conventions,
• dataset structure, visualization templates
• Maintain documentation of semantic models, datasets, measures, and
• calculation logic
• Support QA testing and validation of changes prior to production release
• Assist in mentoring and developing junior BI developers / analysts on technical
• best practices and comfort with PowerBI

Qualifications

• 6–10+ years of experience in Business Intelligence / BI Development roles
• Expert-level Power BI skills, including semantic models, complex DAX, and
• dataset optimization
• Strong SQL skills and experience with structured data models
• Working knowledge of PySpark and Microsoft Fabric sufficient to collaborate with
• data engineers
• Experience refactoring and maintaining existing BI environments
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Ability to work effectively within a globally distributed team
• Experience supporting ERP-driven analytics (Dynamics 365 preferred).
• Preferred experience in wholesale, retail, consumer goods, or supply-chain-
• heavy environments

Familiarity with data governance, metric standardisation, and analytics QA

processes
