Job Summary
The Junior Cost Analyst – Food Sourcing supports the procurement and sourcing teams by collecting, analyzing, and reporting cost data related to food raw materials and suppliers. The role focuses on building cost visibility, tracking price movements, and assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and supplier cost analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and organize cost data for food raw materials & ingredients,
- Assist in preparing basic cost breakdowns (raw material, processing, logistics, duties)
- Track cost changes and support variance analysis against budget or prior periods
- Support evaluation of supplier price quotations and comparisons
- Assist sourcing managers with data for supplier negotiations and renewals
- Maintain supplier cost records and pricing history
- Monitor commodity price trends and market updates (grains, cereals, spices, oils, dairy etc.)
- Track input cost drivers such as freight, FX, and seasonality
- Prepare simple impact summaries for Supply Chain Head.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities for food sourcing costs
- Prepare regular cost reports, dashboards, and presentations
- Ensure data accuracy and timely reporting
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Agribusiness, or related field
Experience
- 2-4 years of experience in procurement, finance, supply chain, or analytics
- Experience in food, FMCG, or commodity sourcing is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel (basic formulas, pivot tables)
- Basic understanding of procurement and food supply chains
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Willingness to learn commodity markets and cost structures
