Role: Digital Manufacturing Engineering Manager (M3)

Role Purpose

The Digital Manufacturing Engineering Manager (M3) is accountable for deploying, integrating, and scaling Digital Manufacturing capabilities that connect engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and aftermarket through a single digital thread.

The role ensures that MBx and Digital Twin concepts move from theory to shopfloor execution, delivering measurable improvements in throughput, cost, inventory turns, quality, and responsiveness, both locally and globally.

Key Responsibilities

1. Digital Thread & MBx Execution

• Lead execution of Digital Thread across the product lifecycle, from:
• Supplier parts & raw materials
• Product design & engineering
• Manufacturing & plant operations
• Quality, maintenance, and aftermarket performance
• Deploy and operationalize MBx building blocks:
• MBSE / MBD – engineering definition and design intent
• MBM – manufacturing process definition & routings
• MBI – production quality, inspection, and analytics
• MBMn – maintenance, reliability, and product performance
• Ensure MBE (Model-Based Enterprise) acts as the data backbone enabling Digital Twins and Digital Thread continuity.

2. Digital Twin Deployment (Product & Process)

• Implement Product and Process Digital Twins that:
• Provide real-time visibility into manufacturing and quality performance
• Enable simulation, diagnostics, and faster decision-making
• Ensure Digital Twins are integrated with MES/MOM, automation, quality systems, and ERP (Oracle/JDE).
• Translate Digital Twin insights into operator actions and engineering improvements.

3. Baroda Lighthouse → Global Scale

• Establish Baroda as a reference digital manufacturing site for Weatherford.
• Create replication-ready deployment kits:
• Standards, templates, SOPs, data models, and playbooks
• Lead or support global rollouts across Weatherford plants, ensuring consistency while adapting to local constraints.

4. Manufacturing, Supply Chain & Supplier Integration

• Connect engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain data flows to reduce fragmentation.
• Partner with sourcing and suppliers to:
• Improve material visibility and traceability
• Reduce lead times and inventory buffers
• Enable supplier collaboration through digital interfaces
• Support cost optimization, inventory reduction, and demand responsiveness through integrated digital execution.

5. Value Realization & Performance Ownership

• Own value delivery tied to:
• Revenue scalability
• Inventory turns
• Cost reduction and productivity
• Quality and first-pass yield
• Define and track KPIs and benefits realization, ensuring digital initiatives directly support Baroda growth and global manufacturing performance.

6. Team Leadership & Execution Discipline

• Lead and develop a team of Digital Manufacturing / Manufacturing Engineering professionals.
• Drive execution rigor, daily management, and problem-solving discipline on the shopfloor.
• Build strong collaboration across Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, IT, and Digital teams.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Automation, or related engineering discipline.

Experience

• 16–18 years in Manufacturing Engineering, Digital Manufacturing, MES/MOM, or Industrial Digitalization.
• Proven hands-on execution of digital manufacturing solutions in plant environments.
• Strong understanding of MBE, MBx concepts, Digital Thread, and Digital Twins applied practically.
• Experience working with global manufacturing networks and multi-site deployments.
• Solid grounding in Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence.

• End-to-end Digital Thread established across key product families
• Scaled MBx and Digital Twin use cases delivering measurable business impact
