Client: Leading reputed beverages manufacturer of a well known brand with multiple manufacturing sites in India & abroad.

Role Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Head – Distribution & Logistics to lead end-to-end logistics and distribution operations for a high-volume FMCG/beverages business. The role requires managing large-scale dispatches of 50,000+ cases per day, ensuring high service levels, optimal logistics costs, and seamless warehouse and transportation operations across multiple locations.

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in distribution network design, warehouse operations, transport management, delivery center operations, and logistics optimization in a fast-paced environment.

KEY DRIVERS:

Distribution & Logistics Management

• Lead end-to-end distribution and logistics operations across regions.
• Manage daily dispatches exceeding 50,000 cases per day while maintaining agreed service levels.
• Drive OTIF (On-Time In-Full) delivery performance and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure efficient primary and secondary transportation operations.

Warehouse & Delivery Center Operations

• Manage multiple warehouses, depots, and delivery centers across geographies.
• Develop warehouse strategies to optimize storage utilization, throughput, and productivity.
• Establish warehouse operating procedures, inventory controls, and safety standards.
• Assess warehouse capacity requirements and plan future expansion in line with business growth.

Distribution Planning

• Develop and execute distribution plans aligned with sales forecasts and production schedules.
• Optimize route planning, vehicle utilization, and load planning to improve efficiency.
• Ensure balanced inventory deployment across warehouses and delivery centers.
• Drive network optimization initiatives to reduce logistics costs and improve service levels.

Transportation Management

• Develop transporter strategies and negotiate long-term transportation contracts and SLAs.
• Build and manage transporter relationships to ensure availability of fleet capacity.
• Monitor transporter performance through KPIs including freight cost, turnaround time, and delivery adherence.

Drive freight optimization and cost reduction initiatives

INCUMBENT:

• MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain or Operations Management preferred.

Experience

• 15+ years of experience in logistics and distribution within FMCG, beverages, or high-volume consumer products industries.
• Demonstrated experience handling 50,000+ cases per day dispatch operations.
• Proven track record in managing multiple warehouses and delivery centers across regions.
• Experience in setting up logistics networks, transport contracts, and warehouse operations from scratch is highly desirable.
