We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Network Engineer – Implementation Expert to manage and execute advanced IT networking and security projects. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing network solutions that meet client needs while ensuring robust security measures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network engineering, proven project management skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality solutions in diverse client environments.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Client Engagement: Travel to client sites to assess network requirements, design appropriate solutions, and carry out implementations. Perform thorough evaluations of existing infrastructure to identify client needs.
Network Design And Implementation
- Design: Develop network architectures and solutions tailored to client needs.
- Implementation: Deploy network systems and components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Configuration And Optimization
- Routers: Configure and optimize routing protocols and settings.
- Switches: Set up and manage LAN switches, including VLAN configuration.
- Firewalls: Implement and configure firewalls to secure network perimeters.
- Wireless Access Points: Install and configure to provide secure Wi-Fi connectivity.
- Load Balancers: Deploy and manage load balancing solutions for optimal traffic distribution.
Testing and Validation: Conduct rigorous testing and validation of network setups to confirm functionality, performance, and alignment with client requirements.
Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve network issues encountered during and after implementation. Provide ongoing support to maintain system stability and client satisfaction.
Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, installation processes, and client-specific instructions. Ensure all changes and updates are accurately recorded.
Compliance and Standards: Ensure all network implementations adhere to industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of network solutions, within budget, and according to project specifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification is required; additional certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) are preferred.
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in network engineering, with at least 3 years focusing on network implementation and client-facing roles.
- Extensive experience in configuring and managing various network components and technologies.
- Proficiency in network protocols, routing, switching, and security practices.
- Familiarity with network management and monitoring tools.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as necessary.
- Proven ability to manage projects, adhere to deadlines, and work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders.
