At HRIDAY Energy Network (Hydrogen Revolution for India’s Development in Agriculture & Energy), we are creating farmer-centric biomass ecosystems that restore land, generate livelihoods & power India’s bio-economy.

Role Description

One of the core functions of HRIDAY is to build sustainable biomass value-chains.

These value-chains would be based on biomass-sources such as surplus agri-residues,

industries wastes, and purposefully grown fuel-biomass on degraded lands.

• HRIDAY follows a cluster-based development approach for biomass generation, aggregation, processing & using it for appropriate value-chains.
• While residual biomass is sourced from farmers/industries, the purpose-grown biomass is generated by cultivating it on restored degraded/fallow lands.
• HRIDAY believes that this approach would ensure optimal utilization of the cluster’s biomass potential, restoration at large-scale, significant carbon sequestration / emission avoidance, generation of assured livelihood options and attractive returns to all partners in biomass-ecosystem.

• The role of ‘Lead – Biomass value-chain’ would lead this biomass-centric function

through getting associated with multiple partners and developing biomass clusters.

Qualifications

• Graduation/post-graduation in science/technology (preferably in agri-related streams)

• Strong passion for rural development & sustainability

• 7+ years of experience in agriculture development programs, with hands-on exposure to

• On-farm as well as off-farm activities,
• Farmer mobilization, trainings and mentoring farmer-organizations,
• Management of team, stakeholders and programs

• Experience in handling large-scale rural development projects

• Innovative & research-aligned approach with willingness to learn & adopt best-practices

• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with diverse class of people

Good to have

• Any exposure to bioenergy-crops, biomass-technologies and bioenergy-ecosystem

• Any exposure to supply chain & logistic management

• Any prior experience in land restoration & watershed management

• Proficiency in Marathi, Hindi & English
