Senior Accountant – US Accounting Full Time NEW

Hiring – Senior Accountant (US Accounting) | Purple Planet, Bangalore

We’re hiring a Senior Accountant to join Purple Planet – a Bangalore based back-office accounting team delivering full-cycle US accounting for US-based companies. Our work focuses on bookkeeping, accounts payable, reconciliations, and month-end close, with sector depth in real estate and construction.

You’ll own client engagements end-to-end, work closely with leadership and have direct US client interaction from day one. If you have 5+ years of hands on US accounting experience and want real ownership from the start, this could be a strong fit.

This is a full-cycle accounting role, not an AP role. Candidates with primarily AP backgrounds will not be considered. We need someone with strong GL, month-end close, and financial reporting experience.

The role

• Full-cycle bookkeeping, GL accounting, journal entries
• Bank and credit card reconciliations
• Month-end close, variance analysis, management reporting
• Direct US client communication during US business hours
• Reviewing work and supporting junior team members

Platforms include Premier (Jonas), QuickBooks Online and Desktop, Xero, Bill.com, Ramp and Sage.

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of full-cycle US accounting experience (not AP-only)
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting
• Comfortable preparing and reviewing financial statements end-to-end
• Hands-on with two or more US accounting platforms
• Real estate or construction experience is a plus, not a requirement
• Excellent written and verbal English — this role is client-facing
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting, Finance or related field

Working hours and location

In-office in Bangalore. Working hours: 5:30 PM to 2:30 AM IST to align with US business hours. Night-shift comfort is essential.
