We are seeking an experienced Senior Community Growth & Engagement Manager to lead the growth, engagement, retention, partnerships, and automation of our digital communities. This role will be responsible for building thriving learner and creator communities that drive meaningful participation, long-term member retention, and business growth.

Success in this role means growing highly engaged communities, increasing member participation, developing strategic partnerships, improving community-to-course conversion rates, and implementing scalable engagement systems through automation and data-driven decision-making.

This is a high-impact leadership position that works closely with marketing, content, partnerships, mentors, instructors, and executive leadership to shape the future of Ascend’s global learning communities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute community growth strategies to increase member acquisition, engagement, retention, and referrals.
• Build, manage, and scale online communities across platforms including Discord, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook Groups, Reddit, Skool, and similar community platforms.
• Create and manage community engagement initiatives including webinars, competitions, challenges, events, AMAs, mentorship programs, and ambassador programs.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and highly interactive community culture.
• Identify and nurture community champions, mentors, and power users.
• Develop member onboarding journeys and retention programs that improve long-term participation.
• Own the strategy, planning, and execution of community newsletters, learning digests, success stories, and engagement campaigns.
• Collaborate with instructors, mentors, content teams, and marketing teams to deliver valuable community experiences.
• Design and implement automated workflows for onboarding, engagement, nurturing, and conversion using CRM and marketing automation tools.
• Build strategic partnerships with educators, creators, universities, gaming communities, technology communities, industry experts, and organizations aligned with Ascend’s mission.
• Monitor and analyze community growth, engagement, retention, newsletter performance, and conversion metrics.
• Generate actionable insights and continuously optimize community performance through data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

1. 8–10+ years of experience in Community Management, Community Growth, Digital Engagement, Creator Communities, EdTech, SaaS, or Online Learning Ecosystems.
2. Proven success in building, managing, and scaling online communities with 10,000+ active members.
3. Experience with community platforms such as Discord, Skool, Circle, Mighty Networks, Facebook Groups, LinkedIn Communities, or similar platforms.
4. Strong experience managing newsletters, email marketing campaigns, and community communications.
5. Hands-on experience with CRM, marketing automation, and workflow tools such as HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, ConvertKit, Beehiiv, Zapier, Make, or similar platforms.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Strong project management, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
8. Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Prerred

• Experience in EdTech, AI, Robotics, Gaming, Esports, Creator Economy, Online Learning Platforms, or SaaS communities.
• Experience building ambassador, mentor, referral, or creator-led community programs.
• Familiarity with AI-powered engagement and community automation tools.
